Our breeding

I am the owner and breeder of many pharaoh ant colonies. Each contains hundreds to thousands of workers and all stages of development from egg to pupa. Each colony has many inseminated and virgin queens.

  • Colonies are microbiologically tested twice a year to exclude the carrier state of multi-drug resistant bacteria (MDR). The only species detected in the culture samples is Bacillus thuringiensis. This bacterium is commonly used as a means of controlling crop pests and in biotechnology.
  • Each new colony is obtained by the natural budding process of the mother colony and contains everything needed for the rapid growth of the ant population.
  • The mothernal colonies of our colonies come from different parts of the world and are free from inbreeding. Thanks to this, the offspring colonies are much stronger and able to reproduce quickly for a long time, offering their services.
